NRNA Denmark Holds Meeting with DGC

In context to a number of Nepalese students declining in Denmark due to tougher government policy to the students, other hand a new development has  encouraged Nepali community that a significant number of Danish Green Card holders from Nepal has steeply inclined up. Estimated that around 50-60 Green Card holders have already entered to Denmark but due to lack of information and weak networks, the GC holders were unable to come up together in the net.  Considering the new development of Nepalese DGC holders, NRNA Denmark organized a meeting at Rentemestervej Copenhagen on 5^th June 2011. In the meeting, Nepalese who have already been living here for more than three decades attended and shared their views with new comers in Denamrk as DGC holders. Pros and cons of living in Denmark were extensively reviewed. NRNA Denmark President Som Nath Sapkota and General Secretary Prabin Prajapati highlighted the aim of NRNA Denmark and urged the participants to join the hands together in order to build solidarity among Nepalese here in Denmark. NP-in-DK google group has been invented as the outcome of the meeting to share information among the members. 

Finland Accomplished General Assembly and Election. 

NRNA Finland has accomplished general assembly and board election on 15^th May 2011.The assembly elected new board members for 2011 and 2012 and passed the annual report together with financial report. Acting vice president of NRNA Finland Byoma Tamrakar presented a work plan for 2011/12 and hereafter Treasurer Arun Pokharel proposed a new financial plan for the duration. 

NRNA Denmark held New Year 2068 tea party reception 

17 April 2011, Copenhagen,

NRNA Denmark held a small tea party reception on new year 2068. The program was held at Cafe White Ganesha, Nansensgade 64, in Copenhagen in presence of chief guest His Excellency Ambassador Bijaya Kanta Karna, the Nepali ambassador for Denmark. Represents of various Nepali organizations here in Denmark exchanged warm greetings and extended well wishes to each other in the friendly atmosphere. The participants from media and research attended and hoped that such programmes often to be organized in order to keep Nepalese united by sharing ideas and experience. Meanwhile the president of NRNA Denmark Som Nath Sapkota stated that the programme was organized in order to keep Nepali culture alive despite people are persuaded to live abroad.

Ambassador Karna in the program highlighted the political situation of Nepal and stressed on timely promulgation of new constitution together with settlement of peace process. He further hoped that in the backdrop of democratic culture and practice it normally takes longer time to institutionalize democracy. The program was coordinated and concluded with serving Nepalese tea and snacks to the participants. 

NRNA Denmark Organizing Get Together Among Nepalese in Denmark

Non Resident Nepali Association Denmark is going to hold a get together programme on 17^th April 2011 to mark new Nepali year 2068. The venue for get together has been fixed at Cafe White Ganesh,  Nansensgade 64, Copenhagen. The time to hold the programme according to official bulletin is from 11:00 a.m to 14:00 p.m. NRNA Denmark family requests all the members and Nepalese living in Denmark to participate the programme and exchange greetings and well wishes among its members in order to keep the culture alive.

This year in 2010, as usual to previous years, Nepalese in Denmark marked up Dashain Festival with great enthusiasm. This festival has been an inspiration to Nepalese to come together with sharing experiences and build up strong ties with family and friends. During the festival, Nepalese in Denmark showed up with Tika and new dresses and were commuting here and there visiting elder people to get blessings.

Last year, Nepalese students’ organization and NRNA Denmark jointly organized a Dashain party in which around four hundred Nepalese from different part of Denmark and Sweden participated. However, this year, none of Nepalese organization initiated it due to various technical reasons, most probably extreme busy life here in Copenhagen.
